3. How we capture data
On this website
When you visit, your browser sends standard request information (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) to our host, Cloudflare. This website uses Google Analytics, described in section 4. It uses no advertising or other tracking scripts.
If you use the "Get updates" form, we capture the email address you enter, the date and time, and the fact that it came from the website. We do not record your IP address or browser details with your sign-up.
If you email us, we receive your email address, the message and any attachments.
In the game
The game signs you in with Epic Account Services. When you first sign in, Epic asks for your consent, and with it the game receives your Epic account ID, display name and preferred language (basic profile), your online presence, and your Epic friends list. When you host or join a match, Epic Online Services handles lobbies, invitations and peer-to-peer connections, including Epic's relay servers, which needs your network information such as your IP address.
Your settings and any diagnostic summary you export are created and stored only on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us automatically.
4. Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit this website and which pages they read. It is loaded from our own domain through Google tag gateway, which routes the requests through our host, Cloudflare, to Google.
What it collects
Pages viewed, time spent, scrolling, clicks on outbound links, file downloads, form submissions, the website that sent you, approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address), device type, operating system, browser, screen size and language. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. A random visitor ID is stored in these first-party cookies:
_ga: distinguishes visitors. Expires after 2 years._ga_YW7DLSV71E: keeps track of your visit (session). Expires after 2 years.
We have turned off Google signals and ad personalization, we do not link analytics to your email address or Epic account, and we do not use analytics for advertising.
Your consent
A banner asks for your choice on your first visit. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, no analytics cookies are set unless you click Accept. Elsewhere, analytics is on unless you click Decline. When analytics cookies are not allowed, Google may still receive cookieless signals (such as a page load) with no visitor ID, which it uses only for aggregate counts. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. You can change it at any time with Cookie settings, or block the cookies in your browser.
Retention and sharing
Analytics records are kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically. Google processes this data on our behalf as a service provider under its data processing terms. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
5. How we use data
- To deliver and secure the website: request data is used by Cloudflare to serve pages and block attacks.
- To understand website use: analytics shows how many people visit and which pages they read, so we can improve the site.
- To send updates: your email is used only to send you news about Hardcore Reflex, such as playtests and releases.
- To run online play: your Epic identity signs you in, your display name identifies you to other players, your friends list and presence let you invite friends, and network data connects your match.
- To support you: emails and files you send are used to reply, fix problems and handle privacy requests.
We do not sell personal data, show ads, build advertising profiles, or make automated decisions about you.
Our legal bases are: your consent (email updates and Epic sign-in, which you can withdraw at any time); performance of our service to you (online play and support); and our legitimate interest in operating a secure website. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are used only with your consent.
6. How we share data
We share personal data only with:
- Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts this website and stores email sign-ups and emails sent to us, acting on our behalf. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
- Google (Google LLC, or Google Ireland Limited for visitors in the EEA and Switzerland), which provides Google Analytics as our service provider (section 4). See the Google Privacy Policy.
- Epic Games, Inc., which provides sign-in, friends, presence, lobbies and relay servers. Epic handles your Epic account under the Epic Games Privacy Policy.
- Other players in your match, who see your display name and may receive your IP address through the peer-to-peer connection.
- Authorities, only if the law requires it.
Cloudflare, Google and Epic may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, these transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual safeguards.
7. How long we keep data
- Email sign-ups: kept until you ask to be removed. If we stop sending updates, we delete the list within 30 days.
- Emails and attachments you send: kept for up to 12 months after the conversation ends, then deleted. Privacy requests may be kept longer only where needed to show we handled them.
- Website analytics: event records are deleted after 14 months; cookies expire after 2 years unless you decline or clear them first.
- Website request logs: held by Cloudflare under its standard retention. We do not export or keep our own copies.
- Epic profile, friends and presence data: used in the running game only and not stored by us. Epic keeps your account data under its own policy.
- Network data for matches: not stored by us.
- Settings and diagnostic files on your device: kept until you delete them or uninstall the game.
8. Your choices and rights
- Analytics cookies: accept or decline at any time with Cookie settings.
- Stop email updates: email [email protected] and we will delete your address.
- Revoke Epic access: remove Hardcore Reflex from the Apps section of your Epic Games account settings.
- Access, correct or delete your data: email us. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
We reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm you control the email address or account involved.
9. Security
Data we store is kept in access-controlled Cloudflare services that only our team can reach. Connections to this website use HTTPS.
10. Children
Hardcore Reflex is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us data, email us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the date above, and for significant changes we will note them on this page.
